Progress

Well, I got the playroom cleared out completely and finally got the girls moved into it.  There are a lot of things to be added to the playroom/bedroom in order to make it as cool as it can be but they were really excited with the change.  Now, I can get to work and create our new classroom and also the new office.  It is so good to see the progress.

Ideas

I had a family meeting today.  My kids have gotten so hard to feed lately.  So rather than fight with them, I had them give me suggestions.  I made them all tell me a few things they like and a few things they don't.  I let them know that I don't guarantee that these will be the only foods that I will cook but it gives me a place to start and information to work with. I also went on Pinterest for new ideas.  I am happy with where we ended up, because frankly, I was bored with what I was cooking anyway.

New!

This is step one in my new hairdo.  It was such a fun day.  The ladies and I chatted, sharing husband stories.  They even invited me to come in and read a magazine, drink a coffee and chat when I don't have an appointment but I just want a visit!  I love this place!

After (stage 1):

Incidentally, they loved this cut.  There was an older lady there who said she would love to be brave enough to do this.  They all commented on the lovely shape of my head lol.

This

This is the outfit my little girl decided to wear while cleaning.  One must clean in style you know.  She makes me laugh, this little bundle of sweetness.

Sixteen!

This beautiful girl came in to the world and changed my life forever sixteen years ago, and turning me into a mother and brightening everything around her.  Happy birthday Princess Belle!  I wish you weren't sick today, but we will make up for it.

More

Got a little more done on my list today.  We are all still a little under the weather so I am going a little slower at things.  But, I did get all the stuff off the table that was serving as a landing zone.  I got all the laundry out of the little girl' room and got it cleaned and I got a good start on clearing out of their room.

And I saw this beautiful sunset:

Not Much

Not an exciting day today, just making use of my newly tidied laundry room and doing tons and tons of laundry.  Princess Magpie and Princess Belle have caught the flu and are pretty miserable so I have been caring for them

Progress

I did more work on the laundry room today.  It is starting to look really good.  I also cleaned out the fridge and organized all my good between my two fridges.  It was a lot of work but I so pleased with my progress

Sharing

Here are some pics of some of my projects in the last few days.

Here is my newly organized and tidy pantry.

Here is our new family closet.  I am going to add a hamper in the corner.

I have a good start in the front porch.  I still have tweaks here though.

I love my new sewing basket ($10 at a thrift shop!)

And my k-cup drawer is so neatly placed!

I am still working on my porch, but I LOVE tnid hall tree!

Hard at it.

I have been really working hard and getting things together for the house.  I am so pleased with the progress that I have made and it feels so good to see the progress.  Tomorrow, I am attacking the laundry room and the family closet.  In the next little while I will take some pictures to share.

Back At It

I felt well enough today to get some things done.  I didn't feel good enough to risk my lungs with the playroom again, so I attacked the pantry today and I am SO happy with the results.  I removed two cabinets to use in the kitchen and put I five shelving units.  I can see how amazing our kitchen will be when I am done.

Well Enough

Well, I was well enough to actually leave the house for a short while today.  I had an appointment and then I got some groceries.  It did take a lot out of me, and I am completely choked up tonight, but it felt good to get out of the house.

Better

I am very happy my kids have such strong immune systems.  They are feeling a lot better today and it does my heart good to see them coming around.

It makes me still being sick a little more bearable.

Sad Sight

I have passed my infection on to my two youngest babies.  Princess Magpie has been hovering around her sister all day, snuggling to make her feel better.

And our playroom was about the saddest playroom ever today:

Poor Little Prince about broke my heart.

Still

Still unable to talk and getting not a lot done.  I did make tacos for the kids for supper and they LOVE  anything remotely tex-mex for supper.

Allergies

I have always been allergic to cleaners and dust.  It isn't fun, but I deal.  I have asthma so it can be hard.  Well apparently the amount of dust and cleaners I have been dealing with in my mission to take back my house, has been too hard on me.  I have been suffering pretty bad with an allergic reaction in my lungs.  I have too much to do, I really hope I don't and up with an infection in my lungs as a result.  Oh well, at least I get to spend time with my kids while I am trying to get better.

Little Prince

Little Prince is definitely a happier boy these days.  He is do glad that I am home.  And, I am enjoying him and the girls more now that I have time.

Just Saying

Can I just say how good it feels to be home?  Little Prince is doing better, the girls are happier, I am getting more and more of things under control, and I am making everyone's favorite supper one day at a time.  It just feels good to be here again.

Getting Started

I got a start on the playroom today.  The girls helped but we had to stop when Little Prince got grouchy and so I went upstairs and cleaned and organized my bedroom.  Tomorrow, I will get back at the playroom.  I do have to say, my kids are SLOBS!

My plan for the playroom is to completely empty it out.  Then we will turn it into a huge bedroom/playroom for the girls. I have shelves, containers, pillows, and more and I do have some fun plans for the walls for the future but I am getting a good start at it now.

Productive

It was finally a nice day outside today, so I went to get the things I need for some of my projects around the house.  I also got groceries in preparation for the storm that is coming later this week.

We also got the girls a few things that they were very excited about.  Princess Snifflefritz declared it the best day ever and that is always a good sign. All in all, it was a very productive day.

Putting it Away

Today I continued on my mission to get the house under control.

The girls and I put Christmas away and cleaned up all the needles.  Princess Magpie asked if she could help vacuum.  She was so cute and proud.

Princess Snifflefritz just enjoyed the wind on the back of the vacuum.  She let it blow into her mouth and laughed.

Afterwards, I cleaned the living room and the bathrooms.  The house really a starting to look better.  And everyone enjoyed it when I made Princess Magpie'  favorite for supper.

I Guess So

I had a very productive day today.  I got a great start on my list of rooms I want to clean and organize.

I was feeling like I wasn't making progress when Princess Belle told me that she was so happy with how much better everything looks since I have been home.  And later, Princess Magpie told me that the food was so much better too.  So it has only been a few days but things are better.

First

I had a lovely first day home from work.  Today was for my kids.  Over the course of the day, I:

  • made muffins for breakfast, which the girls had with peaches,
  • spent time with the kids,
  • got kisses from Little Prince,
  • watched a movie with popcorn,
  • did some cleaning,
  • and made Princess Snifflefritz's favorite supper, spaghetti.

It was a great day.

Last One

Today was my last day of work.  And, while I am glad to be staying home taking care of my babies and bringing Little Prince back to the way he used to be, it was hard to say goodbye.  They treated me so well, and really appreciated me.  I made friends there and that was nice.

I brought little gifts to everyone I worked with on my last day and brought a giant gift bag of snacks for all the staff to share.  I also included four pairs of scissors as a joke because they are always losing scissors.  It was a nice last day.  I got lots of hugs.

I WILL not miss driving a half hour to work in the storm weather though!  As I look out my window I am reminded that this is another reason that I am doing the right thing.

They Arrived!

The little girls' Little Passport and Science Expeditions packages arrived today before the storm hit.  The girls were so excited.  It was by far the best Christmas present of the year.

Goals for the New Year

I have several goals for the new year.  I like taking stock in the beginning of a new year, it feels like a fresh page, time for a new start.  Here is my planned goals:

  1. Get homeschool back on schedule, including improvement to the little girls reading.
  2. Get my house cleaned, rearranged, and organized.
  3. Get my eating back under control.  Lose the weight I gained while working and get to my ultimate goal of 100 lbs lost.

Braved It.

I braved the bad weather and drove the 32 Kilometers into town to get to work.  When I got to town, my boss called and told me to stay home out of the storm.  So, I ran two errands and drove right back home.  I am so glad to be out of the weather.  It is awful out there.   I just wish, the weather would back off long enough for me to work out my notice.  But . . . there is another storm coming!

Lovely

It was such a lovely day today.  I was on Facebook and the Mayor's invitation to the New Year's Levee and spontaneously decided to attend with Prince Charming.  My idea was that it was a good step towards being a part of the community (in the same way that buying all our presents at local small stores was).  It was wonderful.

We were greeted by the mayor and others.

The new year was welcomed in by a junior town cried instead of the official town cried.  It was so cute!

There was a large crowd and the music was wonderful.

After we got home I set to work making our party snacks for the family.

Then we enjoyed our snacks and watched "The Polar Express" with kids.
